Taking the Next Steps
- Find partners/Brainstorm Ideas
- Approach Higher Education Staff and start a development group that meets on a regular basis to discuss and define aims of TDE in higher education
- Find external stakeholders willing to participate
- Convince your institution : present your strategy/course to university leaders and make sure your course will fit with the strategic plans of the university. Pilot it, evaluate and modify or extend.
- Find sponsors
How can I (contribute) initiate TDE in my country/at my institution?
Start by taking stock of the current situation
Which initiatives already exist in your country? Are there universities/departments which already offer transdisciplinary programmes or other transdisciplinary activities? Could these institutions be asked for advice or function as potential partners for a collaborative project?
Demand analysis
Which programmes/activities would be helpful for particular groups of students? Would there be a significant number of students willing to participate?
Reality Check
How much time, effort and finances can be spent? What is my role in this? What can I do on my own and for which tasks do I need partners? Who could those partners be? Can I visualize the project? Who would it benefit and in which ways? Do we need additional funding? Do we have all necessary resources?
Get to work
